"My friend and I were on a cruise to the Greek Isles during July 2016 and we planned to stay in Athens after we disembarked for 2 nights and a full final day. We wanted to find a personal guide along with our own car and driver while staying in Athens. My friend Sharon from the US has referred Nadia Pavlikaki to us. She said she is the best and you could not find anyone like her! Nadia quickly responded to my email and she arranged a remarkable program for us.
She arranged our driver Stamos who picked us up from the cruise dock in a Mercedes, and we did a 5 hrs tour in Athens the 1st day. We drove around the various sites in the city and finally we went to new Acropolis Museum. With tickets prepaid and arranged we skipped the long queue, and Nadia spent a long time patiently explaining the significance of all the important exhibits. On the 2nd day she took us to Delphi, and upon her recommendation we had lunch at a traditional tavern. It was a great sunny day and unlike other guides who only went over some important facts, Nadia stayed under the sun and showed us 3D photos on what the temple used to look like. So instead of looking at the ruins we get a clear picture on the architecture and how the people used to live under those times. We did not know that Nadia has degrees in Art history and Archaeology before we met her, and this is why she is so knowledgeable on the culture and the architecture. We spent the last day in Sounio, and it was my friend's birthday, Nadia and Stamos bought a Greek cake and we chose a restaurant near the seaside, at the foothills of the Temple of Poseidon. It was awesome. It was our last day in Athens, Stamos took us to the airport during late afternoon for our flight back home. I travel to different countries during my life and have met a number of guides. I can only say that Nadia is one of the best (the other one being from Siena Italy). To be a successful guide not only involves efficient planning and knowledge...Nadia is passionate at her work and is proud of her own country's rich history and culture. It is with such passion that I get to know her, and the beautiful Greece much more than I ever expected. Thank you Nadia and Stamos, we promise to come back and visit you again! We love you!"
